1543-4 claimed lands in Arthuret which had escheated to the Duchy of Lanca ster on the death of Clement Blennerhassett.
1543 was named in a list of the principal Gentleman of Cumberland who we re subject to the border service against the Scots. "Bound to attend the m uster with companies of horse anf foot".

1584-5 & 1586-7 MP for Carlisle.
1578 claimed the avowson of Rectory of Great Orton as co-heir to Sir Gyl es de Orton.
1580 he sold his third share of the Manor of Orton.
1586 he received from Sir Edward Denny a grant of lands in Kerry, "in t he plantation of the Province of Munster.
1558-1603 he went to Kerry at advanced age, with his son Robert who settl ed at Ballcarty.
